Usability Testing

Pinpoint areas for usability design improvements & innovation.

Usability testing is done to systematically measure how users interact with your product – whether it’s a mobile device, software, website or enterprise portal. Following ISO 9241-210:2010 for usability, we identify weaknesses in usability and priority areas for UX design improvements and innovation. Our role is to validate that users can perform the tasks they need to do quickly and easily, so any issues that arise can be resolved early in the design process.

Usability testing provides concrete evidence on which to base design improvements before you release your product to the public. Our iterative UX design approach enables rapid adjustments based on user feedback.

DE-RISK IT

Usability testing takes the guesswork out of the design process. Testing answers such questions as: is it easy to navigate? Is it enjoyable to use? We help de-risk your investment by validating design before ideas reach the solution funnel.

Where to start

After consultation with you to understand your vision, mission and research objectives, we develop a usability test plan and testing protocol that research will follow. We recruit end users, arrange test facilities, coordinate test sessions and record both quantitative and qualitative metrics and behavioural observations.

TIMING
The typical duration of usability testing is 3-4 weeks.

How we do it

Methods we typically use include:

  • Structured one-on-one sessions with customers and users
  • Observing users as they attempt to complete tasks
  • Recording users’ interactions, keystrokes, clicks, qualitative feedback
  • Remote Usability Testing sessions to reach various audiences
  • Usability Testing of hardware devices and mobile applications
  • Private Internet broadcast of live usability test sessions to all your internal stakeholders

We provide a comprehensive test report with a comprehensive root cause analysis of usability issues illustrated with video footage where appropriate.

We use this information to prioritize design recommendations for usability improvement and innovation.
